A flower in the desert of Sylhet that delights the heart. - Harold Rasheed

Shah Alam 5 may 1973 to 29 may 2006
Shah Alam passed away at the early age of thirty three. But he left behind some extraordinary pieces of work, water colours, portraits and pen and pencil sketches, works of extreme senisitivity. Vibrant yet delicate.
His watercolours delight the eye.
His pen sketches are bold and the strokes are full of confidence.
His pencil sketches are very detailed and excellantly executed.
An artist of rare talent, one wonders how much more he would have achieved had he lived longer.
A breath of fresh cool air is how I would describe Shah Alam and his work.
Yet in his short life he has left behind a legacy for the future children of Sylhet – The Shah Alam Gallery, the first art gallery in Sylhet.
