shah Alam
It is fifteen years since Shah Alam passed away unexpectedly.
When the Shah Alam gallery of fine arts was set up I described him as a flower in the desert of Sylhet.
Reviewing his works recently, I noticed that he was at home in any medium and subject. His landscapes, portraits, figurative and abstract works show that he knew what he was doing whether it was watercolour, acryllic or pen and ink. He was a natural artist.
We are in a time where we are working to establish an art college in Sylhet.
I can’t help wondering that if Shah Alam was alive he would have been right in the centre of this process.
My Allah rest his soul in peace in heaven.
